Our fifth day at the park started off with our WDW Half Marathon! To read more about just the half marathon check out my race recap for this amazing race!
The weather probably could have been better, but overall it was such a fun race. After ending at Epcot, we quickly headed back to the hotel to shower and get ready for the rest of the day. The nice thing about the half marathon is that it doesn’t take as much recovery as a longer run, so you still have some, albeit small, amount of energy to keep touring the parks.
After a shower and a quick sit down, we headed back out to EPCOT to celebrate our race.
We had lunch reservations at the Rose and Crown, but let me tell you that walking there was not ideal since we were still a bit sore, and it was super humid. The lunch itself was delicious and our waitress was extremely sweet. After lunch, we decided that rather than trudge back to future world, we should take the boats across. Best idea ever!
Our only reason for heading over to future world, was to go to The Land Pavilion (aka. my favorite pavilion). Soarin’ was closed down, but we were mainly going there for Living with the Land.
I just can’t get enough of this greenhouse!
Unfortunately, by the time we got back outside, it was pouring rain. Due to the weather, we tucked into the Mickey and Friends meet and greet, which turned out to be a great idea. I actually haven’t posed with Mickey or any of the fab five before, so this was a treat, and it was even better because we had our medals with us.
If you have done one of these races before, then you know how heavy the medals are. We ended up not wearing them all over the park, but it was nice to take them with us to get them out for pictures.
For dinner we ended up going to Biergarten, but we were so tired that we didn’t get any pictures… after a rainy walk back to the hotel, we passed out right as our head hit the pillow. Definitely a great and exhausting day.
