One of the fun things about living in Portland is that there is relatively good public transportation. For a pretty small city, we have a wide variety of transportation vehicles. Once a year we take advantage of all of them and attempt the 4T Trail. It is a trail that requires four different modes of transportation: trail, tram (sky tram), trolley (street car), and train (MAX).
This is a really fun hike/city exploration. I definitely recommend this for anyone who is going to visit Portland or for anyone who actually lives here. The hike takes you to lots of different locations in northwest Portland and some of the city’s early history. Plus you can start and end at the zoo, so that you can go there to celebrate a successful trek through Portland.
