Following our plan on starting to train for our hike up South Sister in August, we needed to start doing at least one hike a week. This week, we started with an extremely steep one: Dog Mountain.
It is an amazingly picturesque mountain right on the edge of the Washington state side of the Columbia Gorge. I would rate this hike as one of the most difficult I have done in a while. It seemed to be way more steep than others in the area. The amazing thing about the hike that definitely made it worth it was that there are these huge meadows of wild flowers all around the top of the mountain.
We also started a YouTube channel to track all of the hikes that we will do over the summer and show the highs and lows of each…no pun intended. Feel free to check it out!
